Yoga is not meant to make you flexible unless your heart and soul are also ready to be stretched.
Yoga is for you, no matter your age, gender or body shape. And it can heal you if you are kind in the practice journey.
Yoga is an ancient system of healing. Tradition attributes its development to the Indian sage Patanjali approximately 2,000 years ago. The system includes Yamas (restraints), Niyamas (observances), Asanas (postures), Pranayama (breathing), Pratyahara (sense withdrawal), Dharana (concentration), and Dhyani (meditation) which culminate in Samadhi (ultimate bliss, absorption).
My approach to Yoga is also through my mindfulness daily practice.
For me, Yoga and meditation are two practices, that allow me to reconnect my mind and body. As such, and with compassion and kindness, I am able to discover every day new things about myself. By cultivating this self-compassion, I am able to let flow this kindness and compassion also to others.
Yoga and Mindfulness teach me in my everyday life and keep me fit and really connected.
